If you have received power from another electric utility, chances are, you'll notice a difference between your old electric bill and your new Carroll Electric bill. Carroll Electric combines the service availability charge, generation, transmission and distribution costs of your electricity use into what we refer to as an energy charge. Other electric utilities may list these charges separately on their bills. Understanding the differences in billing methods goes a long way in understanding how your not-for-profit cooperative compares in price per kWh to for-profit electric utilities.
