Carroll Electric is a not-for-profit cooperative, therefore we require a $10 membership fee to join the co-op as a consumer-member. This $10 fee represents your investment in the cooperative. Any profit made this year is divided amongst the members, based on the amount of electricity used, and paid back to the membership on a 20-year rotation. In short, we utilize these capital credits as operating funds for the cooperative until it's time to pay them back to the members in 20 years.
The membership application must be accompanied by photo identification and the $10 membership fee. A deposit may be required. Contact the office during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at 1-800-232-7697.
The new member guide is a quick reference about the cooperative. It provides bill pay options, contact information and other important information that you will find useful.
